Tiger Woods
Eldrick "Tiger Woods" is the "wonder child" of golf for our generation.
Tiger was born on December 30,1975 in Cypress, California. He stands 6'2"
and weighs 165 pounds. Tiger attended Stanford for two years, majoring in
Economics. He turned professional in August of 1996, playing in the Greater
Milwaukee Open at the age of 21. Tiger, in his short career has established
himself as the dominating force in golf over the next few decades. By
the time he turned pro, Tiger had already won 6 USGA championships and the NCAA title.
Tiger holds the record for becoming the youngest winner of the Masters (the most prestigious tournament of the year).
At age 21, Tiger became the youngest person ever to be ranked #1 on the tour. He also holds claim to being
the first major championship winner with African American descent. He has won at 7 PGA Tour stops, and holds 2
international victories. Tiger went on to win "Male Athlete of the Year", an honour rarely bestowed upon golfers.
Tiger got his nickname from his father who named him after a Vietnamese soldier with whom he was close friends. Their
has been a heightened interest in the game of golf ever since Tiger's first days as a pro. His energetic personality
