Colin Montgomerie
In the world of golf today, I would say that Colin Montgomerie
is my favorite golfer. Colin, or "Monty" as he is known to his fans, is one of the most recognized players on the
tour today. Colin has performed more consistently than any other player on the tour in recent years and is one of the
most instantly recognizable and appealing of the world's golfing stars. Monty was born in Glasgow, Scotland on June 23, 1963.
He is currently ranked 6th in the world, 1st on the European Tour, and 184th on the PGA Tour money list. Colin's Order of Merit,
tournament and team performances along with his world ranking place him in the upper echelon of golfers. Each year he improves
and after 10 years he shows no signs of letting up.
One of Colin's main priorities is his family which he find lots of time for even
with his busy tour schedule. His wife's name is Eimear, he has 2 daughters named Olivia and Venetia and a son named Cameron. Colin turned
pro in 1987 and only ten years later in 1997, secured his place in history by winning the European Order of Merit for a record fifth time.
His loyalty to the game of golf is unparalleled and his current status is an accurate reflection of the time he puts into this great time.
This past year Colin was voted player of the year for the third time, again a reflection of his effort and dedication to the game of golf.
